This Woman Wanders

Day 9/10

Friday morning I slept in til 6 knowing that the next few days would be busy and exhausting. I had also wanted to check out Helena’s organic supermarket which I’d found out about the day before and they didn’t open until 8am.

Real Food Organic Market was awesome. They carried everything I’d been looking to buy in Annapolis but been unable to find. I stocked up on a few more Merry Hempsters Vegan Hemp chapstick since they are so hard to find. I purchased Dandie’s vegan marshmallows and organic coconut oil and a few small staples. Great prices, good slection and a helpful staff. I highly recommend.

When I departed for Glacier I accidently headed for East Glacier when I thought I was going to West Glacier. I didn’t plan for the road construction between East Glacier and the Logan Vistor Centern etc etc. Long story short, the friend I was meeting had to wait 2.5 hours for me in an area with no cell phone coverage. Oops.

We’re both pretty roll-with-the-punches type people so alls well that ends well and all that.
We decided to try the restaurant in Apgar for dinner. I give them props for being willing to try to make their vegetarian pasta dish into a vegan one, but there’s only so much you can do with penne, a bag of frozen stir-fry veggies and a sauce made from white wine and powdered garlic. Still, it was edible after such a long day of coffee, water and a couple of energy bars.

We photographed Lake McDonald for sunset, camped at Apgar, then photographed McDonald Falls for sunrise. This morning we’re going exploring without much of a plan. We just hope the smoke hazing up the air around here clears up a bit…

(My apologies for only posting cruddy cell phone pictures lately…)
