My last day in Colorado was bittersweet. I usually make a point of spending more time there, both because its just a great location to photograph and because I have an awesome group of friends there. But, since this visit came at the end of a very busy trip, I was only there for a few days.
I had a bit of a lazy start since it had been a late night the night before. I missed sunrise, but was able to get to Estes Park in time to meet up with my friend, John De Bord, and say goodbye. Then John Sperry and I headed into the park. We wandered around some areas that had been fairly unexplored by us and I experimented with some HDR photography. I suspect there are a few images in there I might be happy with. I’m also excited about some bird photographs, specifically of Stellar Jays.
It was a fun time, covering a lot of ground without being too tiring. Spent a lot of quiet time hanging out in the woods, which, for me, is the most relaxing thing in the world.
Though I didn’t get to see everyone I’d hoped to while in the Denver area, I’m glad I was able to spend a few days there catching up with friends and photographing some of my favorite places.
