Unsurprisingly, after the past couple of years, I’ve been feeling a little rusty. I’m out of practice with every element of what I do. The camera work, the blogging, the travel, the hiking…and apparently remembering to apply bug spray.
Last week, on an absolutely stunning day, my camera and I explored Delaware for the day. I visited a couple of favorite locations, then wandered through a few new locations, finding new trails. I went hiking through woods and fields. It was a perfect day. Almost.
It WOULD have been perfect, had I remembered to apply bug repellent and not hiked through a nest of baby ticks. I won’t go into detail. Suffice it to say that that particular part of the day was NOT awesome.
So here’s my little Public Service Announcement: Ticks in Maryland and Delaware are especially numerous this year. Wear bug spray.
I’ve read a few articles saying that catnip is effective against mosquitoes. I wonder if it works the same on ticks. Anyone know?

Beautiful pics! Glad you now know to wear bug spray!
