There’s been very little sun this week and today the overcast skies barely lightened enough to feel like daytime. I wanted to find some nice moss to transplant into a terrarium at home. Walking along, scouring the ground for just the right patch, I spotted something smooth and glistening. Kneeling, I found myself staring into the curious face of our little friend here. I put my hand down, he climbed right up and we had a face-to-face before I set him gently on the moss again.
It’s the little, quiet moments like this that remind me that the excitement of photographing bears and such is only one facet of what I love about what I do.
I’m leaving for home in the morning, stocked with new photos, stories and friendships. I can’t wait to share some of it with you.
